Our Story

As professionals with many years of experience in the healthcare field, the Deep Domain team has seen a lot of money being wasted on reporting and analysis projects trying to answer the same questions, over and over again. While debriefing after a client meeting in 2005, founders Howard Mahran and Jeff Hummel began wondering why every project being paid for had to be a one-off. They noticed that every time they went to a new clinic or hospital, they were being asked to provide the same answers to the same basic questions from different data sources. Nearly every report, every analysis for every project was being recreated as if they were new each and every time. There was very little code being reused, and very little knowledge being shared in any meaningful way. In October 2007, they decided that reporting and analysis didn’t have to be so expensive, and founded Deep Domain, Inc., an innovative healthcare information technology (IT) company that would eliminate those one-off projects, lower the cost of reporting and analysis, and allow for knowledge sharing between healthcare organizations, even if they were on completely different platforms.
